The procedure undertaken by the House is unprecedented. Since unprecedented is the new standard, the senate can undertake an unprecedented response.

That is what Mitch is signalling will happen when these articles come over to the Senate.

What is she going to do, take the unprecedented step of passing articles and not walking them over?

The House has the sole power to impeach. She made sure we all knew that.

The Senate has the sole power to try. She is stepping out of her lane if she plays judge or appeals court. She's stepping on the Senate's toes.

"The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments" <- see US Constitution, Art. 1, Sec.3

I think she's proven by her past actions that she doesn't care. If Mitch doesn't hold to procedure (he doesn't need her to walk over the papers), he's just letting her run the show and do what she wants.
