(CNN)At least nine people have died after a plane carrying 95 passengers and five crew members crashed shortly after takeoff near the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan on Friday morning.
The plane "lost altitude after takeoff and broke through a concrete fence," before colliding with a two-story building at approximately 7:22 a.m., local time, according to Almaty aviation authorities. The domestic flight, operated by Kazakhstan-based Bek Air, was scheduled to fly from Almaty, the country's largest city, to the capital Nur-Sultan.

O Master, Lord our God, Who in Thy wisdom hast created man, and didst honor him with Thy Divine image, and place in him the spirit of life, and lead him into this world, bestowing on him the hope of resurrection and life everlasting; and after he had violated Thy commandments, Thou O Gracious lover of mankind, didst descend to the earth that Thou mightest renew again the creation of Thy hands.
Therefore we pray Thee, O All-Holy Master give rest to the souls of Thy servants, whose names are not known to us, in a place of brightness, a place of green pasture, a place of repose, and, in that they have sinned in word, or deed or thought forgive them:
For Thou art a good God and lovest mankind and unto Thee do we ascribe Glory, together with Thy Father, Who is from everlasting and Thine All-Holy and good, and ever giving Spirit, now, and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
yours is quite the step up from the absurd and insulting post #2, the poster of which seems to think this is all a big joke.
Thank you for the beautiful words.
Really I dont like Borat and I dont think he is funny at all. Not to mention the idiocy that is apparent from someone who copy pastes stupid lyrics as a reply in a thread never mind a thread about people dying.
wonder if anyone important was onboard...
Anyone with dirt on Clinton or Kevin Spacey or Prince Andrewon board.
My apologies. While I did find humor in the Borat national anthem, I understand that it is inappropriate for the subject matter at hand, and thus requested its delation.
Man, anyone taking flights on any russian or -stan type country airline over there really deserves a medal after each flight. Seriously there’s a large statistical chance something awful’s gonna happen. And then you deal with those places’ healthcare system if you’ve survived. another flippin’ medal for that, too.
Sounds like the plane was overloaded or perhaps ice. I lost an aunt on an overseas airliner that was overloaded and that caused miscalculations on take-off. I was but a child then, but my cousin who is my age watched his mother’s plane crash.
Today, he is an airline pilot.
Aeroflot and S7 (Siberian Airlines) are both excellent airlines. I have flown both numerous times. I can’t speak, about any Kazakh airlines,
Flew S7 to Irkutsk and landed on a snow packed runway. Best landing and rollout ever. Just a Schroeder like cloud of snow rolling down the runway.

Airbus plane, by acquisition.
“Airbus plane, by acquisition.”
Yup.
It’s a Fokker.
You're telling me!
My children were adopted from Kazakhstan. We took a flight from Uralsk to Almaty. The maintenance people came on board and got in a screaming match with the pilots. This lasted about 15 minutes until a roll of duct tape was procured, the maintenance people left, and the pilots applied tape around the door.
I was never so frightened in all my life.
