Those over 55 communities are sprouting up all over the NYC metro area - like mushrooms - as Baby Boomers start to retire in force.
Strange; unless it is an exclusive community, why are the taxes so high? Our school taxes are about 1/3 of our total property taxes here in NJ; are you in NY?
I think towns see them as a way to keep the stability of older people in the area with low offsetting costs; is the $10,000 low for the area (compared to single-family homes, for example)?
