Of course, the stupid libs once again step in their own shite. Since there is about 1 affordable housing unit for each 3-10 eligible section 8 applicants (depending on the city), making eviction more difficult will only result in tighter initial screening for applicants. Landlords will choose the better tenants from the start, leaving the most difficult to place applicants in the shelter population.

Didn’t any of these people study Economics? Or even Logic?

“Schools are also no longer teaching good blue collar working skills, it is all college focused.”

I’d say the schools aren’t teaching much at all; they may say its “college prep” when they eliminated blue-collar trades from schools, but many of the students are still hardly college material.

“many of the students are still hardly college material.”

This is an important point. I once was helping a group of micro-entrepreneurs - street vendors. We went to see a member of our city council. After some discussion, I finally said, “You must realize that 1/2 of the population is below average in IQ.” The councilmember looked at me with shock, like he had never had such a thought. Unfortunately, I suspect that Secretary DeVos may be in the same position.

That’s a funny point, and one many don’t think about - 1/2 are below average...

I mentioned the “college material” bit because many think it is an automatic entrance to a middle-class lifestyle - regardless of field of study. Then they complain about BS like gender or racial disparities without delving into what those “students” did for four years...

A good idea is to have supported housing which would train folks who need to get back on their feet to be able to rebuild their lives.
