Jack Wilson, the security volunteer who quickly shot the Texas church shooter at West Freeway Church of Christ, stopping him and likely saving many lives, is a former reserve deputy sheriff who was the long-time owner of a firearms training academy.
Wilson Is a Donald Trump Supporter Who Believes the Survival of the USA Will Be DeterOn his campaign website, Wilson shared a graphic from another man that reads in part, All members of the House &/or Senate that support illegal aliens over US Citizens are in violation of their Oath of Office and should therefore be REMOVED FROM OFFICE. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE.
He also shared a post opposing impeachment. Wilson wrote in December, I attended several meetings this week. It was great to meet with conservatives that are like minded. I heard there are many concerns about our freedom and liberties. I hope everyone will keep in mind that voting is the best thing you can do to insure the freedoms we enjoy. Oh Sheesh! Just lighten up already! Pay attntion to what we do know which is Hero’s arose and saved people from certain death or injury.
Correct, but they claim the same performance: 125 grain JHP at 1350 fps. I have one of each and I tend to believe it, although I would say the Python hits harder and farther. But I feel very safe with either of them. The Python just feels more familiar (since I have owned several in the last 40 year, and shot one of them loose.)
Again this thread was suppose to be about the Hero’s in this event....it’s been hijacked ....but if you and others need to focus on the dead shooter than have at it!
Trump neeeds to bring him to the White House and give him the Medal of Freedom.
Yes! Agreed!
“..This hero will be making a White House visit.”
ABSOLUTELY!
He was amazing. One fast, smooth motion and dropped him. He deserves a medal.

It’s most certainly a training video on how its done. His weapon of choice, a Sig P229/.357 round and one head shot from about 50 feet.
Wow! THIS is my concealed carry instructor of several years ago!!! I had no idea he was the one who took out the shooter.
During class, Jack would provide a short teaching segment not required by the state to his classes. He would go over emergency preparedness thinking in the case of interruption of public utilities and government services. He would also address the mindset of the, how should I say, democratic crowd in the instances of emergency. He highly recommended securing a place in a rural community as a fall back, either a purchased property or a commitment by a friend or relative. He really taught from his heart.
I knew him casually and really respected how he approached his business and how he dealt with everyone with whom he interacted. I hope he is elected.
I am a pretty good shot and have my own range - but I immediately noticed 2 things: 1. He only shot once - no double-tap; 2. He made a head-shot at a good 15 yards.
I knew right away the guy had to be a pro.
I’m not good enough to have done either. I might have tried a headshot on my first shot, but not likely. I would have been aiming at the larger target - his chest.
I have been through police “Shoot/No Shoot” simulators - and the adrenalin and tension is very realistic - and never hit my target on the first shot. They say that in true fire-fights that LEO’s only hit their target a small percentage of the time.
Clearly this guy was EXPERT. And thank the Lord for that!
“On his campaign website, Wilson, a vocal Donald Trump supporter, explained his platform and principles in early December:
There once was a time the President was honored, police were respected, newborns were treasured, & vets were revered. Lets bring that back
His campaign slogan: Make sure your vote is on target.

JACK WILSON FOR CONGRESS!
I was banned from a forum about using guns in self-defense for saying that if one HAD a head shot, take it. I was told one should only shoot “defensively” and trying to actually kill the other person was verboten.
But no gun is a shield. It won’t deflect bullets and it certainly cannot put up a protect shield around an entire congregation. I don’t think I have the skill to take a head shot at 50 feet. Not consistently. But if a guy had body armor, that is what would be needed. It is something to train for, IMHO.
The FBI says a man shot in the heart with a 44 magnum will still have 10-30 seconds of useful consciousness left. IOW, he can keep shooting for at least 10 seconds if he is determined enough. That is a LONG time if the other guy has a shotgun!
Another lesson is that even if you do everything right, you may die. The one guy had trouble accessing his gun. I sympathize. I would too. But he TRIED, and his trying may have given the other guy an extra half-second to aim. When it is a handgun against a shotgun, and the guy with the shotgun has it out and is shooting, there are no good answers. Unless, of course, one CAN make a head shot. But the guy who succeeded may have been a second away from a shotgun blast to the chest.
Cheers for ALL who tried!
Thanks for posting. Thanks to all posters. HOORAY Jack Wilson. American hero BUMP!

You asked if a post was facts or supposition
Bang your own drum
Can’t wait for all the facts to come in. 24 hours later and still NOTHING on the shooter. No tweets about it by POTUS either.
Well done, Mr. Wilson.
Our prayers go to you and your fellow church members.
The 357 SIG is a “bad to the bone” round.
I’m quite familiar with it...basically a 9mm magnum of sorts originally designed to bring the performance of a certain .357 magnum revolver law-enforcement cartridge to a semi-auto pistol. There are many online videos concerning this caliber.
As I said, it’s a pretty hot round and talk about noisy...geez..and commercially-available ammo to practice with can get expensive. It’s also not the easiest round to reload either due to its necked-down case, but it can be done. A lot of folks will use a .40S&W such as a late-model 3-pin Glock 23 with a conversion barrel allowing them to practice with the less-expensive, easier to reload .40, then switch barrels to use the.357 SIG for carry.
It shoots flat, very reliable, high-cap, powerful but very manageable with a little practice. I’ve always liked it.
However, to make that shot in a church full of people under duress with that particular caliber took some practice, and Mr. Will was obviously well-practiced and proficient with it. I’m sure there are many people alive this morning that are more than very grateful for that. Thank you, Sir.
Make sure your vote is on target.
