Asylum seekers in Arizona sent across border back to Mexico

Immigration officials on Thursday began sending asylum seekers in Arizona back to Mexico as part of an expanding program that requires thousands of asylum seekers to wait for their immigration court hearings in Mexico rather than the U.S.

Until this week, the government was driving some asylum seekers from the border town of Nogales, Ariz., to El Paso, Texas, so they could be returned to Juarez, Mexico. Now, asylum seekers will have to find their own way to court hearings in Juarez, which is roughly 350 miles from Nogales.

About 30 asylum seekers were sent to Nogales, Mexico, on Thursday, according to Gilda Loureiro, director of the San Juan Bosco migrant shelter in Nogales, Sonora. She said the migrants hadn't made it to the shelter yet but that it was prepared and has a capacity of about 400.

Good...let them enjoy the trek. And let the trek be futile and lead only to disappointment.

This is all well and good, but it means NOTHING unless the definitions of asylum/refugee are severely tightened up.

Asylum seekers in Arizona sent across border back to Mexico

What's to prevent them from simply re-crossing the border illegally, setting up permanent lives here and waiting for an amnesty? Currently, not much except some out-manned border patrols.

The border wall may no longer be something anyone wants to talk about, but it's still vital. There is nothing to prevent Iranian terrorists seeking revenge for today's events to cross over from the failed Mexican nation and wreak mayhem.

In the years since, the "Trump Wall" as it has come to be known, has become a symbol of Trump's presidency itself, with the president pinning much of his legacy on its successful completion.

True, but it’s still a big deal since as long as they’re in Mexico they won’t be released in the US (and disappear) while waiting for their hearing, which they may never show up for.

Here’s my question:
Are American tax dollars still supporting these “asylum seekers” (aka would-have-been illegals, except caught & sent back) while they’re in Mexico?
Or is Mexico feeding them?

If we’re still footing the bills, we’re just keeping the **detention centers** out of sight of the SJWs & their media flaks.
Which is progress, but not m7ch.
