That happened to me in Chile in the mid 70s. Some friends were driving me to their house for dinner one evening and the rear window of their sedan just exploded and disintegrated. It was quite scary.
I’d like them to find the idiot doing target practice on commuters, and then leave these folks alone with him/her for 20 minutes.
A propelled porcelien spark plug will produce similar results.

I did not know that a BB could shatter a car windshield, but a quick internet search confirmed it.
This is Daytona Beach and then the other incidents further up the road close to Jax. Almost certainly related since they are only 40 or so miles apart. I would guess hoodlums heading home to Jax from a day in Orlando having some New Years Eve “fun”.

We’ve had kids go up and down our streets at night shooting out back windows mostly with some form of repeatable pellet/bb guns. Massive $$$ as it is not cheap to replace rear windows on a lot of these SUVs. Before they caught the kids, a few of us were speculating it was the car glass people that do this, as those shops were packed and backed up for weeks!
What can happen when they move up from pellet guns.

Living in California in the 2000’s, I had side windows shot out two separate times. The first time the cops couldn’t find who did it (all I had was the place on the street where it happened and it was by a hillside with several dozen homes). The second time I told the cops where it happened, they sent a patrol car and the kids didn’t take the time to look at the whole car as it came down the street. They shot out a police car window. Air soft pellets both times. The kids got caught and the parents had to buy me a new passenger side window.
