Airbus did a very wise thing: they bought 51% of Bombardier's C Series airliner program and will soon have TWO factories in North America building the plane. This is why I say the likes of Southwest Airlines may be secretly eyeing a deal with Airbus to buy the A220-300 (formerly Bombardier CS300) to replace the oldest 737-700's, some of which are now over 20 years old. And because of the very quiet engines on the A220-300, that makes the plane far more capable of extended operating hours out of several noise-controlled airports in California: San Jose International, Hollywood-Burbank, Ontario, John Wayne Orange County and San Diego International.

Airbus has done a number of business-smart things, Boeing has cut costs by outsourcing to China and India to generate quarter-over-guarter short term results. Unfortunately they can’t make the CEO’s firing retroactive by about 5 years.
