Yeah at the end of an AK47.
Or reclaim their Zoroastrian roots.
Nothing matters, until people are angry enough to start assassinating mullahs and torching mosques.
There might be a significant percentage who hate the mullahs. But the mullahs have the underclass on their side, who are dependent upon the regime’s subsidies, and who will fight and kill anyone who might threaten that.
The majority of Iranians in Iran are said by the diaspora in Germany and the Netherlands to be secular for practical reasons. Iranians inside Iran are said by people I know and trust in Amsterdam and Italy to be firmly against Islam but act in support out of fear.
Last month’s news. WAPO was angling for an invasion of Iran or violence against Iran regime elements in Iraq.
The Left wants war, ground war, boots on the ground fighting.
POTUS is not going there. He doesn’t need to. He has many options to shake them up literally without commiting to a conventional ground war.
So now WAPO and their Bezo’s controllers are stumped. They want to foment a ground war so that Trump is neutralized against their Deep State because it forces him into an unwanted alliance with their interests.
Notice how impeachment was suddenly scrapped during the Iran-Iraq fireworks?
Now it’s back to their first page.
Sorry no sale enough of the population supposed these losers. The Iranian people are no friends to anyone least of all themselves. They have become a garbage culture. It’s time to stop with this illusion the people want some other form government that isn’t maniacal. The sooner these folks get the message we make no distinction between them and the mullahs the faster things get better
The UJ article is dated 12/03/19. It is known that Iran had protests. The Hong Kong protests and impeachment nonsense may have eclipsed them at that time. To me, it demonstrated that the mullahs did not have an iron grip on the populace.
> “To me, it demonstrated that the mullahs did not have an iron grip on the populace.”
I think the Regime does have an iron grip which is now weakened with the death of Suleimani and part of his network.
But make no mistake, there is no 2nd Amendment in Iran. Most of the people there are sitting ducks for regime elements. The torture chambers are real. I believe they are real because of friends in Amsterdam and Italy that are in touch with people inside Iran who are careful to report what is happening.

After the U.S. took out Saddam Hussein, CNN’s Eason Jordan who was the bureau chief of their Baghdad office, wrote an Op Ed for the New York Times. In it he admitted that all the news that came out of Iraq via CNN had to first be approved by the Hussein regime. In other words, it was propaganda....
Back in the Death to America days, while Iran had our hostages, they had tons of students here, most in engineering, for obvious reasons. There were stories about the ‘expectations’ of these students if they wanted to keep getting money for college from the Mullahs...so they had to protest the US, on US soil, if they didn’t want to be sent home (and likely having bad things happen then).
So any pro-regime ‘protests’ or demonstrations is simply fake.
I repeat :
I, for one, need a lot more convincing that whether or not Iranians hate the regime determines whether or not they'd resist a foreign invader kicking the regime out and then hanging around as occupiers for twelve to twenty years.
How much people like or dislike their rulers doesn't translate one for one into how much they're resist or praise an invader.
Oops, I forgot the to include Neocon Stooge troll in the list of possible reasons for your choosing to basically change the subject to some set of articles that agree with the crowd who think staying in Iraq sixteen years and Afghanistan nineteen years is a good thing as long as it's not their butt, arm, leg, or internal organs, on the line.
She lives in Brooklyn, but I have no clue if she is a citizen or not. She broadcasts for VOA (Persian Service). Here is a picture of her with Secretary Pompeo.
That's the reason I believe that the regime's foundation is cracking. The people wouldn't demonstrate unless they had nothing to lose and something to gain by doing so.
My parents were Eisenhower Republicans and JFK Democrats. At the time of JFK, the rumors of his infidelities were not known widely, hardly at all.
I did not like LBJ at all, was ambivalent about Nixon, Carter did not impress etc.
Reagan won me over heart and soul.
Bush I was a grand disappointment.
BJ Clinton was and is an embarrassment and danger especially his domestic partner.
Bush II was a severe incompetent and drove me to become Independent.
BO was and is a clandestine threat to our Republic.
I trust Secretary Pompeo.
The VOA woman pictured with Pompeo, if she is critical of the GOP, I can be Ok with that although I am boosted by the rise of Conservative Republicans such as Jordan, Gaetz, Nunes, and so may others who were previously sidelined during the Dem-Lite John Boehner-Paul Ryan corruption.
Living in NYC can make a person pay lip service to the Democrat machine there. I know it’s not courageous to accede to Democrats there but if one’s family and businesses are ingrained there, the Democrat party apparatus there can make people heel or else just like in Iran. But if this woman is a true blue Democrat, then I am severely disappointed. For now, the jury is out for me so I give her the benefit of the doubt.
Name calling? That’s all you got?
Feel free to fart away! Longtime Freepers have learned to wear virtual gas masks for such occasions.

Iranians Stampede to Blast Media’s Coverage of Soleimani
I missed it. And that’s probably a good thing. My tolerance of the FSM grows less and less over time. Even Fox is sometimes cloyingly stupid.
Like Ive been saying... What Iran fears most is a revolution. And thats now possible with Hussein no longer POTUS
I remember these times vividly. I had Persian doctor friends...wonderful people. Kind and very very polite....
Then Jimmy Carter basically betrayed the Shah...and it was like over night you get these young people over there wanting to go back to the proper days of Islam.
I think these college aid kids, bit off more than they bargained for, as the whole culture was turned upside down.
Think about it...over night Iran, probably the second richest country in the world at the time, is brought down, just like Venezuela.
