U.S. officials are confident Iran shot down a Ukrainian jetliner in the hours after the Iranian missile attack on U.S. targets earlier this week, CBS News has learned. The Ukrainian International Airlines plane crashed Wednesday soon after takeoff from Tehran's airport, killing all 176 people on board.

Accidentally shooting down a passenger plane might be at least a part of why Iran seems to have(at least temporarily) backed down.
I heard on the radio there were 30 Canadians onboard, and Trudeau is “demanding” Canadian investigators be given access to the crash. Demanding? Ha! An impotent, prissy liberal is demanding something from Iran? Good luck with that one.
Maybe Trudeau will ask President Trump for help? That would be priceless.
They can’t distinguish a passenger jet that took off from their own airport from a war jet and they can’t hit the broadside of a barn with their missiles...

It was pretty funny yesterday when Fox was trying to say that it really was an engine fire and just an amazing coincidence.
When one realizes that tens of thousands of planes take off and land every day, 365 days a year, without mishap, and then this one just happens to coincidentally have an engine problem? Well, apparently even Fox thinks we are utter morons.
I heard that most planes were grounded at the time so my guess is that they DID think it was a B-52.

Somewhere, this is an Iranian Air Defense crew that is being liquidated by the IRGC.
U.S. intelligence picked up signals of a radar being turned on, sources told CBS News. U.S. satellites also detected two surface-to-air missile launches, which happened shortly before the plane exploded, CBS News was told.
I can see it now, the missile hits, and they are all cheering, and then one says, “Gosh, Achmed, I never knew it was that easy to shoot down the great Satan’s B-52’s. We may have made a boo-boo.
