How will this change a single thing when the head of the FBI and Attorney General are willing to commit crimes, you know, like the Obama administration?

Is this suppose to make everyone feel better? This doesn’t even qualify as a Band-Aid. There was obvious wrongdoing and very possibly violations of law here. It appears Barr is looking to sweep everything under the rug.

I thought counter-intel probes had to be signed off by the POTUS. I could be wrong on that point, but that’s where the onus should be placed. They should have the AG, FBI Director and POTUS all sign off on it explicitly. Then there won’t be any doubt, or blame games played. The people will know exactly who to look at if shenanigans occur.
I don’t know if there is any precedent for a counter intel probe of a major party candidate before Trump. We all know what really went down - they had zero evidence, they just made it all up, a lot of it after the fact, to justify political espionage and weaponization of the “17 intelligence agencies”.
