If I were Trump and they were allowing the democrats to call witnesses, I would just go all in and ask for Joe Biden to be called, and start questioning him under oath about exactly WHAT he knew when with Hunter and Burisma, and then question him about how Obama obstructed congress.
I’d also try to call Obama’s lawyers, and ask them all about what Obama did in 2016, ask questions clearly covered by executive privilege.

I have read several times that the rules regarding witnesses are different in the Senate, in that the minority and majority must agree upon the witnesses called.
This would spell trouble, because you know the Dems would block any witness with the potential to do them harm, whereas the Pubbies... well, we know how they fight. Their favorite maneuvers are the bendover and the rollover...
And, for crying out loud, call Joe, not Hunter. What Hunter did looks and smells bad, but will be easily explained away as ‘nothing illegal’. Joe is on video bragging about his quid pro quo, which is exactly what started up this sham process.
