The troops were medevaced this week to Germany and Kuwait to be treated for traumatic brain injury after experiencing concussion symptoms.
Nearly one dozen American troops were wounded in Irans Jan. 8 missile attack on Iraqs al-Asad air base. This week, they were medically evacuated to U.S. military hospitals in Kuwait and Landstuhl, Germany, to be treated for traumatic brain injury and to undergo further evaluation, several U.S. defense and military officials have confirmed to Defense One.
Senior military and Trump administration officials had said on Jan. 8 that 11 Iranian missiles had caused no casualties, no friendly casualties, whether they are U.S., coalition, contractor, et cetera.
In the past week, news organizations that were granted access to the base to film the damage and interview military personnel have reported that no Americans were killed, wounded, or seriously injured. But the New York Times reported on Monday that some personnel had been treated for concussions.
In a Jan. 16 statement, a spokesman for the U.S. military command in Baghdad said, As previously stated, while no U.S. service members were killed in the Jan. 8 Iranian attack on Al Asad Air base, several were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed.

I thought we were going to strike Iran back fast and hard if they retaliated?
Almost a dozen US troops hospitalised over Jan 8 Iran missile attack
That right there tells you it is BS. They would not off been in Iraq over a week.
Quoting the same source so it a BS story being repeated
Fake! Lame stream media would be pushing PDJT to war if true.
It doesn't sound like anything 'serious' (disclaimer - if I get a hangnail, it IS serious - but if someone else breaks a leg -- 'meh, he'll get over it in a few weeks') - but worth taking the precautions if we have the luxury of time.
Either that - or it is just blatant fiction (you can never tell from today's lying Media).

the Hill, Fox News, BBC reporting
NY Times reporting, federal spokesmen confirming.
Wouldn’t surprise me if a few suffered concussions.
Soldiers don’t always do what they’re told.
On BBC there’s a vid made by US soldiers of the bombardment.
You know they weren’t in the safe place they were supposed to be!
A concussion is considered a serious injury?
I dont mean to dismiss it but thats not a serious injury in terms of a battlefield injury.
“I thought we were going to strike Iran back fast and hard if they retaliated?”
We did while collecting evidence of the mullahs blowing themselves with the Iranian public.
Iran’s mullahs blew up a civilian airliner killing over 170 people. The protests across Iran have continued for days and the internet is shut down to keep it quiet.
Sometimes, you have to know the best move is not to make a move.
Several U.S. troops "were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed. As a standard procedure, all personnel in the vicinity of a blast are screened for traumatic brain injury, and if deemed appropriate are transported to a higher level of care," Capt. Bill Urban, the Central Command spokesman, said Thursday
Sounds more precautionary then a serious situation. We shall see.
Not sure if its true. But the media will run with traumatic brain injury over concussion even though they mean the same thing. Cause traumatic brain injury just feels better for them.
Google concussion and the first definition you see is mild traumatic brain injury.
I know concussions are nothing to laugh at. But....
concussion symptoms = injury
I was injured in 1971 by the detonation by a U.S. bomb rigged as a “basket bomb” that was launched into our position. I was knocked temporarily unconscious and was bleeding from my ears and mouth. As I was a rifle company commander at the time, I went back to my job and was never treated or evacuated. I now know that I suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that caused some short and long term effects. But, I shook it off and drove on. Everyone else in similar circumstances did the same. Unless you had a penetrated wound, you were expect to continue to do your duty whether you were a rifleman or company commander. No big deal.
Many years later, long retired, but working as a contractor to help solve the Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) problem, I learned, along with scientists, doctors, and other very smart guys we found out that TBI was a big issue. It was a serious wound that could cause death or permanent disability and immediate first aid was critical. These guys are likely casualties of TBI and could be in serious trouble. Hopefully, they are getting the critical medical attention that they need.
A few years ago, a good friend’s son was wounded in a suicide bomber attack that killed six of his team. He had no visible wounds, but upon return to his base, he and others knew that he had some effects. But, since he was in the Air Force, the USAF doctors and the leaders were not familiar with TBI as the Army and Marines had done. When my friend told me what had happened, I told him that his son had TBI and he needed immediate attention. To the enduring credit to the USAF, we got the word to the Wing Commander and he swung into action, reached to very highest level of the Air Force. My friends son was evacuated to Landstuhl and properly treated. He is fine today, but many soldiers of the Vietnam era never got that kind of treatment and they are living with the effect of those wounds to this day.
These soldiers, the 600 killed by EFP’s, and the thousands wounded by the fanatics of Solemonie and his Quds Force attacked the U.S. deliberatley and finally we have a President who has been willing to do something about it. About time.
another example of backing down when faced with Iranian terror and murder.
