THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
RICHARD RODGERS
OKLAHOMA!: PEOPLE WILL SAY WERE IN LOVE
This is a clip from the 1955 movie. Its a good example of how Richard changed his style of shaping melodies due to Oscars lyrics. Listen for some great singing.

I first saw that film in a drive-in theater in the early months of 1957. I was impressed by that production number.

People Will Say We're in Love--Frank Sinatra (1943)
This was recorded when the instrumentalists were on strike, so not a single musical instrument is used in this version.

People Will Say We're in Love--Bing Crosby & Trudy Erwin with the Sprotsmen Glee Club (1943)
This was also recorded during the American Federation of Musicians' 1942-1944 walkout, so there are no musical instruments to be heard. Nonetheless, this is my favorite version of the tune.
