He does serve a purpose as a soapbox to expose the regressives, that is as far as he has to go to keep his NRA invites.

I’m sure Hillary would have been better on guns in the short term.
And I’m also sure that Hillary’s court picks would have done better on guns in the long term too.
And if Trump loses in 2020, who cares, he’s no better than any Democrat who replaces him.
