“” “” Poland has had its magnificent heroes, and great moments in history (the turning back of the Red Army in 1920 before Warsaw, which saved western Europe);”” “”
That’s one take on it. It worth mentioning that the Red Army went to Warsaw repelling the Polish invasion of Ukraine. If not for the Polish aggression no Red Army would have been anywhere near Warsaw at the time.
I respect Polish people very much but their government went off the rails recently peddling alternative history to improve their standing and they do it extraordinary stupidly.
Using Auschwitz commemoration to once again inform the rest of the World about Molotov-Ribbentrop as if nobody heard about it and to warn about ‘resurgent Russia’ was just a recent example.
But guess who are coming to a World holocaust forum in Israel this year? Putin is a main guest and nobody wants to see a Polish president in Israel.
Everybody is tired with their baloney.

That’s one take.
Another is that in 1920 a reborn Poland went to war to recover territories lost to aggressive neighbors 130 years before.
The same neighbors that would carve her up and attempt to extinguish the Polish national existence again in 1939.
Well, Poland just demanded a restoration of its 1772 borders before the first partition.
In addition, the Soviet Union's plan was to annex Poland and move on to Germany, so I'm not quite sure who is the aggressor here.
