Facebook has blamed a technical error for Chinese leader Xi Jinpings name appearing as Mr Shithole in posts on its platform when translated into English from Burmese, apologising for any offence caused and saying the problem had been fixed.
The error came to light on the second day of a visit by the president to Myanmar, where Xi and state counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi signed dozens of agreements covering massive Beijing-backed infrastructure plans.

Not so much a “technical error” as a happy coincidence.
Any discussion of its accuracy is punishable by a stint in a forced labor camp.

Did it translate Kim Il Jung as “Mr. Weenie Weiner”?

After what Pelosi said the other day, I wonder if there is somebody doing something intentional here.
At least the translation wasn’t Winnie the Pooh.

If Myanmar had the rule of law and enforceable contracts, they could have signed massive infrastructure agreements with private investors in the USA and Europe two centuries ago.
