Also, it is a horrible envy at work.
He isn’t one of “them”.
He didn’t go to the “right” schools, didn’t know the “right” families, the “right” people, the “right” job or occupation; not a lawyer, not an elite. A rich, loveable blow hard like Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack or Back to School, taking on the Ted Knights and Snotty English Professors of the world.
And he’s rich. Richer than them.
And worst of all—he’s not a politician. He’s an dreaded Outsider, who dares to represent not them, but us!!!
And his intransigence was multiplied ten fold by us liking him, voting for him, supporting him.
This can’t abide.
I have no doubt that every day they hatch a plan to kill him—they fail—but that never will stop them. The one thing they hold dearer than all is to risk their own selves, so they can only plot and plan so much. That is actually their weakness.
