Under 30”?
The most popular .22 rimfire rifle on the planet is 18.5”. You couldn’t even MANAGE to confiscate them all, there’s so many. You’d be finding them under sofas and in the back of closets and attics for 100 years.

That’s barrel length. My reading said 30 “ overal. I thought they might be going after Chipmunks, and people teaching kids to shoot, but Chipmunks go 30.5 inches.
