U.S. Reps. Alcee Hastings and Frederica Wilson of Florida say they are endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden as he pursues the Democratic nomination for President.
The duo had previously endorsed U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris of California in the Democratic primary. After Harris withdrew, their endorsements were again up for grabs.
“I’ve known Joe for years. I know that he is ready to take on the job as Commander-in-Chief on day one,” said Hastings said in a statement on his decision to endorse.

years ago, I got the verbatim transcript of the House Judiciary Committee’s deliberations on the Hastings impeachment. This was back when the Dems controlled the House.
Hastings was guiltier than sin of bribery and perjury. The vote in the House (both in committee and on the floor) was decidedly lopsided against Hastings.
It’s too bad that the people of his district didn’t realize that when they elected him to Congress.

... Congress didn't exercise its authority in precluding Hastings from holding a Federal office in the judiciary removal.
They just got their marching orders in time for Iowa. There will be daily endorsements now.
