A public-service announcement honoring the life of Botham Jean will be shown during the Super Bowl as part of a partnership between the Jean familys foundation and the NFL, according to the familys lawyer.
The 2-minute video was released online Wednesday and shows the human cost of police brutality from the Jean familys perspective, said attorney Lee Merritt.
Jean, 26, was fatally shot in his own apartment in 2018 by former Dallas officer Amber Guyger, who was convicted of murder last year and is now serving a 10-year prison sentence.
Merritt said the video, produced by Jay-Zs company Roc Nation and the NFL and narrated by the Jeans, didnt come without its own controversy, noting the backlash Colin Kaepernick and other players faced when they protested police brutality on the field.
Since then, the NFL has worked to see what they could do to try to right their wrongs, Merritt said. This isn't the compromise that I was hoping for. I was hoping that the players would be released to resume their on-the-field protest. But this is a step in the right direction.
The Jean family was at first reluctant to work with the NFL to create the video for those reasons, he said.

Affirmative action goes wrong again.. nice promo.
“PSA? Pacific Southwest Airlines is still flying?”
I sure wish they were still flying.
WTHolyF??????
Thank you is right. I was invited to a very *fancy* super bowl event. Since it involves this kind of nonsense and half-time nonsense I’ve decided I’ll be doing something else.
Thanks for the warning.
Botham was a Seminary student and his family appear to be devout Christians who forgave her for murdering him.
I would hope I could be as forgiving as they have been.
It better not be Palmetto State Armory!
CC
So, are they saying the Woman Cop wouldnt have shot a White guy that she thought had broken into her Apartment?
2 minutes for bathroom, food/drink restock, etc. Who will sit thru this? Except those who pay big bucks to go to actual Super Bowl?
They had another one of this type during a recent playoff game. Are they trying to get cops killed? How about they show the shirt that was being sold with the picture of a dead officer on the front. The caption was one down, many more to go.. or something to that effect.
As others here have said, it isn’t the police shooting black guys in big cities, it’s other black guys.
We recently had a police officer murdered here in NJ by(the usual) along with JEWISH Americans. No PSA for any of them.
More lectures on violence from the National Felons League.
Will not be watching...

This story, imho, does a disservice to their Christian testimony.
The brother’s kind words and hug in court should have been the end of it.
I think it’s tragic what happened to this guy.
This is not the time or place to pull this stunt.
It will wind up with police officers being killed.
At a time when people no longer have to make bail, semi serious crimes are not being prosecuted, and officers are being ridiculed openly, we are headed for some very serious problems.
The Leftists chaos is playing out just as designed.
In five to ten years, we may look back at the Leftists today, and realize we had it good now.
This woman committed a crime of heinous negligence and is rightly doing hard time for it. But, I don’t think this was a case of “police brutality” as that phrase might be commonly understood.
And why is the NFL, who has just this year climbed out of the pit they dug with their anti-American antics reviving this contentiousness now?
I can really go back to not rooting or caring about any of it. Very easily.
All that being said: GO CHIEFS!
“Do they care that Black men will lose their lives to other Black men in Chicago, DC, Detroit, NYC and other big cites across this country this Super Bowl weekend?”
And do they care about the black women and children who will do the same?
NOPE and NOPE.
If you ain’t killed by a white person your black life doesn’t matter.
This is why I hate BLM more than any other “movement” on the planet. Thank the good Lord I’m not black, because if I were black my head would have exploded over this BS a long, long time ago.
Indeed. A terrible case to use for this purpose. She was justifiably convicted of murder. What more do you want?
