U.S. Senator Susan Collins said on Monday the case for calling witnesses in President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial had been strengthened by a New York Times report on a book manuscript by former Trump adviser John Bolton.
“The reports about John Bolton’s book strengthen the case for witnesses and have prompted a number of conversations among my colleagues,” Collins said in a statement she posted to Twitter.

We haven’t seen anything regarding this.....it’s only what the New York Times is saying it says and then Shulmer follows today with the drumbeat...”witnesses”...and “Cover Up”!
Dems using this ‘media pushed’ farce, along with Schulmer today pressing for extending this trial throughout the election season...they HAVE to find a reason to extend this trial rather than have Trump acquited now. Otherwise they loose their ‘stage’ and their ‘free’ daily press breifings to discredit Trump.
I hope the Senate refuses further witnesses......otherwise this goes on and on right up to Nov. election.

I really don’t know what to make of Collins at times.
Clearly this book “leak” is just another Gorsuch nonsense moment... She’s intelligent enough to know this, so I don’t know really what to do with her.
He was fired months before the phone call at the heart of this ever took place. So, anything discussed then certainly was not policy.. And of course lets not get into the ties his book agent and publishers have to the rest of the usual suspects.
It seems Collins desire for “fairness” in this matter will come at further harming the nation, in a process that has been inherently unfair from day one.
Nobody’s produced it..if the Times have it why hold it back? This fish stinks to high heaven! It’s a pressure tactic to get the Senate to allow witnesses and therefore the Dems have the media stage every day throughout the election season.....just as they wanted and have currently...press briefings and all.
We’re watching Kavanaugh 2.0 here..and once again, our side is playing tiddlywinks

... The House has concluded its Constitutional responsibility by adopting Articles of Impeachment related to the Ukraine matter. It now falls to the Senate to fulfill its Constitutional obligation to try impeachments, and it does not appear possible that a final judicial resolution of the still-unanswered Constitutional questions can be obtained before the Senate acts.Accordingly, since my testimony is once again at issue, I have had to resolve the serious competing issues as best I could, based on careful consideration and study. I have concluded that, if the Senate issues a subpoena for my testimony, I am prepared to testify.
I don;t expect he'll be called to testify in the impeachment trial. This scam hasn't moved the political needle among the populace, and Bolton's addition won't change that.
Just makes it look like those republicans are coordinating with the dems.
We see now how GWB got dragged into Afghanistan, Kurds and Iraq.
Bolton, your life is over...deal with it and retire.

What’s not funny is that the GOP is a fake party. The only reason they get elected, at least at the national level, is because they are not Democrats. Besides that, there are few if any reasons to vote for them.
I don’t think even Romney will have the guts to vote for witnesses. Maybe one, but not enough will vote for witnesses, IMO.
After the impeachment, the Dems will re-open all this because of Bolton. They’ll never let up again.....never.
They want to prevent anything good and beneficial to the country from happening. Most people will be too dense to figure that out.
We had better figure out how to counter it.

It’s a trap... for Dems and uniparty....
Anyone that fully trusts the Senate is a fool. There are many GOP senators that would have zero problem with Trump being removed. He is a bigger threat to their power than the Democrats could ever be.
Seems like only yesterday W had to recess appoint Bolton because the Democrats hated his guts so freakin’ bad they couldn’t even get a vote on confirmation.
