The European Unions Parliament has rubber-stamped the withdrawal agreement agreed between Brussels and London, a largely symbolic move which means the last administrative hurdle has been cleared before the United Kingdom departs the European Union on Friday night.
European Parliament President David Sassoli signed the withdrawal agreement on behalf of its members after the chamber consented to the document Wednesday evening, having voted 621 in favour to 49 against, with 13 abstentions. He said he would give the document to the European Commission for the final administrative work for Brexit to take place on Thursday, before the United Kingdom formally withdraws at midnight Brussels time on Friday.
The chamber burst into a rendition of traditional Scottish song Auld Lang Syne at the vote was announced, chosen as an anthem for the event by anti-Brexit politicians as a symbol of defiance against the decision of the British people to withdraw from the European Union, made in 2016 and now being followed through with some 1,316 days later.

Now begins the real deep treachery...
So, what happens on Friday?
People have to get visas to travel to the continent and vice versa?...................
The Brits can get rid of Meg and the Euro all at once. There’s a giant step in the right direction. It ought to be a red letter day for them!!
Well that and fewer malcontents camping out in Calais hoping to sneak through the tunnel to Dover.
Not all countries in Europe are in the EU, and travel to/from them does not require a visa.
Which was one of the many reasons for Brexit.
Never thought I’d see the day. The UK regains it’s sovereignty.
Oh the humiliation...
Congratulations to the United Kingdom.
Now can we kick the U.N. out on their asses? Please?
Don’t worry, never underestimate govt’s ability to muck things up.
I live in Spain, which has a huge British expat population. By agreement with the Spanish government nothing will change until the end of the year. I wouldn’t be surprised if at the end of the year there was another extension. Spain gets too much badly needed money from the expats to rock the boat.
Which was one of the many reasons for Brexit.
...but which, however, Brexit itself will not change.
