Alexander Statement on Impeachment Witness Vote (he's a no)
www.alexander.senate.gov ^ | 1/30/2020 | Senator Lamar Alexander

Posted on 01/30/2020 8:07:35 PM PST by CaptainK

“There is no need for more evidence to prove that the president asked Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter; he said this on television on October 3, 2019, and during his July 25, 2019, telephone call with the president of Ukraine. There is no need for more evidence to conclude that the president withheld United States aid, at least in part, to pressure Ukraine to investigate the Bidens; the House managers have proved this with what they call a ‘mountain of overwhelming evidence.’ There is no need to consider further the frivolous second article of impeachment that would remove the president for asserting his constitutional prerogative to protect confidential conversations with his close advisers.

Jay Sekulow made it quite clear no witnesses would come in without a major court fight.

NOBODY wants this to go on forever, especially the four stooges running for President.

Romney can buy Bolton’s book and question him at a Barnes & Noble book signing.

So with Lamar 50 50? It’s defeated?

Can the Chief Justice cast a tiebreaking vote, like the Vice President (as President of the Senate) does?

51-49. With three, its 50-50 and fails.

That will set up the acquittal vote which should pass easily.

Wake up folks, Lamar’s statement upholds the Dems lies. It’s like a non-apology apology.

And he will change his mind 100 times until the vote.

Read it again! He calls Trump guilty.

So he thinks Trump actively used his office to affect a political opponent?

I wonder which way he swings on conviction then.

No one anywhere has suggested Scott is in play. It’s always been MooKowski, Collins and Romney.

i believe there’s no need for a tiebreaker- if they don’t have 51 votes in favor of more witnesses, its over.
