Pretty much everything we get has China content, in some way. Much is directly imported. Much of the content of ‘American’ items uses Chinese components. And I suspect much of the machinery used to manufacture even fully American products have Chinese content. To put it another way, if China were to disappear tomorrow, WE ARE SCREWED.
40 years ago, this wasn’t the case - they could have their ‘Cultural Revolutions’ and ‘Great Leap Forward’ or whatever other crap they wanted, but it didn’t affect us.
But now, as China continues to shut down, what happens here?
American manufacturing steps up and buries the rest of the world even deeper than they are now.
