Terrible news. Was Rush a smoker? For as long as I’ve known him (since the mid-1980s) he’s joked about his “formerly nicotene-stained fingers”, so he must have quit ages ago - you never know.
I pray for his recovery. He is irreplaceable. What he has meant to the conservative movement, and the nation, over the past 3 1/2 decades cannot be quantified.

I have had a feeling something was going on for a couple weeks now after he disappeared for a couple extended periods unexpectedly... Then last week he started growing his beard out and I really wondered what was going on.

Very sad.
Without Limbaugh there would be no talk radio, no conservative voice etc. His impact on American politics cannot be calculated. I am stunned at this sad news.
