Biden has marketed his potential presidency as a return to prelapsarian America, a time before President Trump when senators of both parties could knock the hell out of each other during the day, go get beers after work, and then hash out a deal the next day that everybody could live with.

Partisan Media Shills update.

We have a pandemic of criminals in the republic, Tim.

Sadly, I have to agree with you. Hence why I said, any "honorable person"... I never expected that Biden would. Not now anyway. He'll wait until he comes in third place in South Carolina.

Biden and Warren are both done - they just don’t want to admit it. Its a shame Chief Spreading Bull is done. Trump would have crushed her and had a blast doing it.

At this point the Donkey nomination is Breadline Bernie or Buttplug and Breadline Bernie has far more and far more enthusiastic young commies out there supporting him. Of course either one will be utterly crushed by Trump in November.

No but South Carolina might be. They banking on Joe starting to win in the South. I think they might be in for a rude awakening

Joe's done, although his animated corpse can still fill a role that is otherwise empty: that of the "moderate" candidate the party falls back on after the crazies have vented. They're all crazies now.

a time before President Trump when senators of both parties could knock the hell out of each other during the day, go get beers after work, and then hash out a deal the next day that everybody could live with.

If prelapsarian is intended to mean mythical then the author has a sort of backhanded point here: the last fellow who said "We're all friends after five" was Ronald Reagan and it wasn't true even then. Perhaps it's the average age of the former Big Three - Warren, Sanders, Biden - but the light that is peeping through the cracks indicates that they're all living in the past, Joe in 50's movies, Liz in a thoroughly mythical lineage, Bernie in the equally mythical set of political assumptions that are shared by a dismaying majority of Democrats, that theirs is the "party of the little guy", the "working man", the downtrodden minority. Hillary watched the working class women's vote walk away from her and blamed them.

I don't see Bernie's Bomb-throwers meekly queuing up behind any of these political manikins, to be honest, nor behind two doddering billionaires and a gay small-city mayor. The Berni Bros have the headlines and the microphones not because they're any backbone of the party but because they're what's left, and their party establishment loathes them, and they know it.
