No Kneeling in XFL; New League Promises Consequences for Violators
MRC Newsbusters ^ | 02/11/2020 | Jay Maxson

The new XFL just made its debut over the weekend, and one thing viewers did not have to stomach were social justice warrior players kneeling in protest during the Star Spangled Banner. Unlike the cowardly NFL, which in 2018 withdrew an overture to ban dishonoring protests in pregame ceremonies, the XFL brain-trust had the guts to make it very clear that kneeling will not be tolerated. Grievance mongers who entertained any ideas of doing the Kaepernick thing can take their gripes elsewhere.

Vince McMahon’s rebirth of the XFL, which had a previous and short-lived run way back in 2001, started up over the weekend, and the only controversy drawing widespread attention came when a player said the f-word in a live TV broadcast of a game.

Now the word was out that the league will make it hurt if anyone takes a knee during the anthem. The XFL's Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Oliver Luck said on a weekend Bloomberg Business of Sports podcast, “There’ll be consequences” for any players who defy the league's no kneeling edict.

Watched the DC Defenders game on Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the game. It wasn’t NFL but the pace was great and the action pretty lively. I like the new kickoff and extra point rules and the fact that the officials didn’t run the game.

I watched one of the games and there was also hardly any grandstanding. I recall mild grandstanding after a touchdown, but nothing after routine plays.

I missed the first weekend. I hope it works though.

But given what happened to the Alliance of American Football last summer, I have my doubts.

Sandlot football?

JK, I wasn’t a football fan before NFL went POS, but hope XFL makes it as a viable alternative to the Anti-American o-holes.

BTW, I’m seeing a lot/more Chik Fil A commercials on the Hallmark Channel these days.

Do a search on XFL pay structure. It is refreshing and NOT like the NFL in any way. This league could be around a good long time. If nothing else, it gives college athletes who don't make the NFL draft a place to go and play the game they love...with far more limited chance of debilitating injury.

The chance is still there but nowhere on the NFL level of mayhem.

I watched the replays of the XFL games and was somewhat surprised how much the formations and plays looked like the NFL. I didn’t see kick-offs and punts.

I was also surprised how full the stands were.

These players in the XFL are happy to be getting paid. They will not jeopardize their paychecks by doing this.

I read a news story earlier today that said Kap is trying to join the XFL. Why would he do that, if they’re not allowing the behavior he started?

Do a search on XFL pay structure.

I'll do that...I was surprised when I heard that everyone on the roster of the winning team splits $100,000 for winning.

I'll be tuning in again next week if the games are televised. I liked what I saw.

XNFL is about as close as he should get in that effort.

I like those rules also. Talk about wild kickoffs!

Waiting for the double forward pass thing to be used a lot of times.

Bring back the only 2 great things about the 2001 version of the XFL—HE HATE ME and the Helmet-Cam.
