I’m guessing my pacifist Senator Rand Paul is one of the five.

Those Republicans include Mike Lee of Utah, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Susan Collins of Maine, Todd Young of Indiana, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

The bipartisan 55 to 45 vote — in which eight Republicans joined all Democrats in approving the resolution — was seen as a rebuke of Trump’s opposition to consulting Congress when making foreign policy decisions. A rebuke? Nope.
More like a blind out of control hatred for Trump being manifested in another petty vindictive move. Hardly bipartisan.

But the measure is largely symbolic as it has been slammed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Trump, and so is not likely to garner enough Republican support to override an expected presidential veto.

Correct me is I am wrong but a “resolution” is not a law and the President will not be casting a “veto”.
This is just symbolic and the President can ignore it.

Mixed feelings on this one. Im sick and tired of military missions in these third-world s*hole Islamic armpits. On the other hand we cannot let any of these fanatics get nukes.
My preference is harsh economic sanctions, with 100% advance warnings that if the mullahs jump the shark we level the entire country. Literally. Glass. We empty the nuke warehouse, restock, and unload again and again.

They should make up their minds. They condemned Trump for refusing to go to war in Syria, now they forbid him fro LM responding to hostilities from Iran. Basically they want the Obama foreign policy where we appease radical Islam wherever it exists and make war on anyone else in the Middle East.

Imagine how this would limit Trump’s threat the Iranian regime and stymie any resolution that Trump might otherwise be able to force on them. This would actually make it more dangerous in the area for American forces. These people are miffed and acting out as opposed to acting in favor of the United States. As far as I am concerned each and every Republican who voted for this needs to be primaried.
