we can thank the freak out of the demacrat establishment over the election of President Trump for driving up the number of Americans that feel an affiliation with the republican party over Demacrat party.

Nothing succeeds like success. As the Republican brand becomes more closely identified with Team Trump, there is a synergistic effect taking place.

And yet the mainstream polling firms will continue to sample Democrats with a 5-7% advantage so that they can claim that Trump is unpopular, deserves removal from office, is leading country in the wrong direction, etc.

I think they came up with this weighting after Obama’s immaculation and have never strayed from it since.

I was just talking to a friend of mine who said for the first time ever, she is not voting Democrat. Donald J Trump has worked a miracle.

Don't you expect pollsters to do their job? If they're paid to support a certain narrative, a lot of them will work hard to deliver what they have promised. [One of my professional standards was that I would only present the truth to the best of my ability. I was very good at that, and my clients knew that I was only providing facts - back in the days before the response rate dropped so far that it's hard to know what the truth might be.]

Historically, the liberals have always gone after the large populated areas like California and New York, left and upper right coast, and the union areas like the upper Great Lakes states because the electoral college numbers were big in those regions. But with their efforts to pander to the main flow of their voting, they have lost enough of the odd votes from the other 30 or so states and the GOP has kept or taken them back. So where you do the poll, which was not mentioned in the article, is crucial to its meaning. If you take that poll in California, you will easily get 5 to 1 liberal. Polls are advertising tools, not reality.

More people are feeling positive about Trump not because they necessarily agree with him on every issue, but because he makes them feel good about being American.

Democrats don’t get that and their constant whining and complaining about the country are leading them to disaster and they don’t see it.

Trump may not be some people’s cup of tea but it couldn’t hurt them to say a few good words about America and its people?

When did that become controversial? Its really quite simple: Republicans and most independents love America and Democrats don’t.

Watch Mark Levin from last night. His guest talked about how Roosevelt was the first crooked dem. He would buy votes and reward groups that voted for him. Then he would ignore them til needed for votes again. He would reward those that supported him and ignore those that did not. Just like the dems of today. He was the original.

Sadly, this seems to be true for many (probably not "all") Democrats. They've turned into the party of "America is Bad" - likely because of the constant drumbeat of negativity about the country from the MSM and the neutral to not so positive perspective on American history now being taught in many of our schools and universities..

Nothing on either the linked site or Gallup's about methodology for the poll. I didn't see the number of people polled or the margin of error. Also nothing about how they handled disparate phone answering rates, which they usually handle with some farcical assumed D-to-R ratio that we can laugh at (Bernie wins with 500 electoral votes in a D+20 poll? Yeah, right.).

I think there a whacko leftists and Democrats. After what we have seen and now know, identifying as a Democrat in public is embarrassing, so people say “Republican” to avoid being ostracized from their “normal” friends.

Of course. Who wants to be a part of the Party of Hate and Evil now that the Democrats have been forced out of the closet?

Roosevelt is a saint compared to today’s Dems.

While hindsight is 20/20 regarding his government programs, he insisted on programs like the CCC because he thought it would be devastating to pay people not to work. They built parks, roadways, dams, etc., and were paid for it; he was determined not to reward idle people who’d lost their jobs.

I’m not a fan of Roosevelt, but I understand that he looked at other developed countries and saw the reactions to the economic depression (communism or fascism) - he sought a third way, and it seemed to work. Anarchists (Sacco/Vanzetti types) and communists were at work, and many people had no stake left in the shambles of the stock market crash; he had to get a large majority on the same page.

Even I'm embarrassed for the Democrats.

What a bunch of dingbats.

And then, there's:
* The Hollywood crowd
* The (fake) MSM
* The violent Anti-American sports figures
* Assorted low-IQ 'spokespersons'

All claim to represent the values of the Democrat party(The party of division and hate).

However, the Rat party has become expert in stealing elections. We've got to get a handle on that.

Here in Oklahoma, the medical marijuana scam came up for vote. We used paper ballots. Old people were literally taking the votes out of the trunks of their cars. Addicts came out of everywhere and voted many times.

If Oklahoma's pimps in office had any credibility, it never would have passed.
