The case is a woman in her 30s who resides in the Fraser Health region, Henry said. The woman recently returned from travel to Iran and has a milder form of the disease, Henry said.
The new case brings the total number recorded in British Columbia to six. On Wednesday, the province announced that the first person in B.C. to contract the virus had recovered.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

A milder form? Really?Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

For 1 random Iranian woman from Canada to contract the virus from a visit to Iran - there may be a situation in Iran we’re not hearing about.
worldometer is reporting that the US has it’s 16th case in Humbolt county North Carolina. And a close contact has symptoms as well. They are isolating at home.
Humboldt county is in California.

No wonder I couldn’t find an article on it to post.
“1 new case in the United States (Humboldt County, in Northern California). A close contact who has symptoms is being tested as well. They are both “doing well” and self-isolating at home.
“
This past week saw many breaks of containment. This one though is a straw that saw the camel and won.
“a milder form of the disease”
Is that uneducated journalist optimism? Or is that a doctor’s opinion? Or the opinion of a microbiologist or virology specialist?
It’s breaking out all over, isn’t it? Not good.
Five patients are being moved to a hospital in Spokane, WA which is one of eleven hospitals in the country with special containment units for highly infectious patients. They have something like ten of the containment units. If this gets even slightly more out of control, all those infectious disease containment units are going to get full very fast.
That’s only 40 miles from us. Getting close to home.
Could be deliberate propaganda, for all I know.
Many are not being tested in the US even though they show symptoms. Who knows anymore.
More likely a regular flu.
