Trump Overturned Obama's Conventional Wisdom
American Thinker ^ | February 21, 2020 | Fletch Daniels

President Donald Trump spent the first three years of his presidency taking a flamethrower to elite conventional wisdom.

Before the president, an "elite" consensus had formed that lost manufacturing and industrial jobs were gone for good, "free" trade was good for America, and American leadership was about managing America's decline in the face of a rising power in China.

These positions were so assumed to be true that politicians would spout them off in the same way they might observe that the sky is blue or that knowing the Clintons is hazardous to a person's health.

The "you didn't build that" president commented before the 2016 election, "He [Trump] just says, 'Well, I'm going to negotiate a better deal.' Well, what, how exactly are you going to negotiate that? What magic wand do you have?"

That magic wand was a simple combination of competence, a belief in America, and an understanding of fair trade and economic leverage.

Not to be outdone by his old boss and showing why he has never won a single state primary, Joe Biden commented, "Anybody who can go down 3,000 feet in a mine can sure as hell learn to program as well[.] ... Anybody who can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program, for God's sake!" Translation: While everyone cannot land a gig guzzling corrupt cash from a foreign energy board, people can at least learn to do something respectable, like typing out some of that computer stuff.

There is not much conventional about Obama’s anti-American wisdom. He is a Marxist. Trump has fixed most of that...

I would expect to see a Trump campaign ad of Obama talking about that magic wand and the new normal followed by Trump talking about current trade deals and the booming economy. Tagline: “It’s not magic; it’s competence.”

That’s why it’s the height of audacity for this Obama to take credit for the economy and return of manufacturing jobs.

The media, esp the TV media is despicable. No wonder Trump goes on a tirade like last night spending about 10 minutes blasting that jerk Cavuto...

I can’t stand the guy. Whey he’s on, I turn the channel.

So, don’t know who the gal was, who Trump referenced giving false information about his debates. She claimed that, Trump did poorly in his debates, LIKE BLOOMBERG, early on.

Conventional wisdom is something that keenly interests me in terms of national or global issues. I am trying to teach my kids this and we have had numerous discussions about it.

Global warming and other environmental issues, foreign policy and globalist doctrines, military tactics, the supremacy of the battleship, the war on poverty, student loans and higher education, the permanent loss of manufacturing jobs, and the list goes on and on. It is an excellent way to teach your children to have a healthy skepticism of things when people declare an issue to be settled (science)!
