Lot and his family all died, as do even the most “righteous” of Christians.
Romans 3:10:”There is no one righteous, not even one”

The righteous and the unrighteous were carried away by the Babylonians and Assyrians. The prophet Habbakuk even laments that those God called to judge the Jews were more iniquitous than the Jews.

I don’t think this is a Biblical plague but the example of Lot is only partially useful here.
