President Trump's reelection campaign is suing The New York Times for libel, claiming that the newspaper knowingly published false information about the president in an op-ed last year.
The lawsuit, filed in New York State Supreme Court on Wednesday, accuses the Times of intentionally defaming Trump with an op-ed claiming that his 2016 campaign had an "overarching deal" with Russia.
"The statements were and are 100 percent false and defamatory," Jenna Ellis, a lawyer for the campaign, said in a statement.

Reap what you sow leftards. As Rush said, Trump was just waiting for the impeachment nonsense to blow over and he’s on full attack mode.
Sounds like demonstrable malice to me.
His campaign committee could seize all their assets, although I dont know how much electioneering the $10 would buy.
go after them!
Trump could tell the people to dismiss the media.. “they go after me on everything.. they have nothing else to do.. they need a job to occupy their time”.
sue them right of business. The New York Slimes lives up to his name. No wonder it is being sued.
There needs to be endless libel and slander suits against the multitude of MSM lies.
I hope this is the start of that.
I suspect that that would be hard to prove in court. Good luck!
According to a lawyer for the Trump campaign, the reason they knew the information was false was because the Times itself had published several stories (four, I believe) indicating that the people at the paper knew the truth of the matter. And they were published before the editorial. If that’s a fact, the Times will be the source of the evidence.
Whether they lose or not is obviously debatable, but it would be nice to at least scare the crap out of them.
