There was a time long long ago when a news reporter answered those questions about an event without editorializing or pronouncing judgement, but I digress.

Given Coronaviris is transmissible when asymptomatic (unlike Ebola), it is harder to contain spot and contain, barring a complete quaratine weeks ago. So I think it’s more likely to fall apart by spring when, in addition to warming temps, people will have had/know of cases of Corona that most people survived without major incident. If China can control it with their pop and system, the US sure can.

The death rate for the 1918 flu pandemic was ~2.5%. Yes, health care was not even in the same universe as now, but this current virus is no slouch. Is it going to decimate the world. No. Is it a significant concern. Yes. I hope you are right and this just dwindles and goes away.

Hewitt is one of, if not the only remaining best at even handed interviews. That said he is also totally an entrenched beltway loyalist. He shows whenever the question involves US military action or funding. Like the deep staters he believes in, he falls into every Washington DC group think trend openly before his flyover fans can correct him. Eventually, like his never Trumper conversion.
He has a tendency to jump on pandemics as a holier than thou DC insider, issuing dire warnings to those of us who use common sense instead of standard issue media lawyers and doctors to point out the truth.
I didn't know that about him coaching Trump. I used to listen to Zeoli when he was in the afternoon commute shift but not since he moved to mornings. He was pretty funny but also smart.
