>> there was nothing racist about it — it saved tens of thousands of black lives.
Really?
What I originally said was thousands - should have stuck with that. Tens of thousands might be a stretch. Sorry.
I was basing my comment on something I read that said homicides in NYC exceeded 2000 per year in the 80s and early 90s, then decreased to under 300 during the years of stop & frisk. Thats a 1700 per year difference over a long period of time.
I figured Giuliani was mayor from 1994 so I thought lets multiply 1700 times 20 years - 34000 fewer murders, mostly black victims by far. Then extend it to other big cities like Chicago.
Still, thats too much seat-of-the-pants guessing on my part - wrong to attribute all of that drop to stop and frisk.
Unfortunately, its impossible to find any fair analysis on such a racially charged subject - the MSM and DNC agenda is to make the police and Republicans who support them look like racists.
My point is that the Democrats seem to have no problem with the idea of raiding rural homes to confiscate guns from law-abiding hunters and NRA members in zero crime areas, but they do have a problem with going into urban high crime areas where gang or drug related shootings occur every day, and frisking people that walk and talk like gangsters!
Still, sorry I exaggerated
