Romney may vote against Trump again — this time with some bite
Washington Compost ^ | March 5, 2020 | Aaron Blake

Mitt Romney became persona non grata in certain parts of the conservative movement last month by becoming the first senator of a president’s own party to ever vote to remove them from office.

Romney indicated Thursday that he is skeptical about the need for the Senate Homeland Security Committee to issue a subpoena related to Hunter Biden’s work for Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy company.

“I would prefer that investigations are done by an independent, nonpolitical body,” Romney told The Post’s Mike DeBonis. “There’s no question the appearance is not good.”

Republicans have a 8-to-6 majority, meaning Romney’s vote, when combined with the six Democrats on the committee, would deadlock it at 7-7 and prevent the subpoena from being issued.

Bet the MSM will never ask mitt if he or his family have any business ties that can be impacted by the Ukraine investigation.

Romney will get hit like Bolton did and will back down! I expect something to come out on him today.

Romney is corrupt. If memory serves me correctly, it’s perhaps his son that is up to his neck in dirty dealings over there right along side Biden.

This isn’t voting against Trump. This is voting against America, justice and the deplorables you despise Mittens.

He needs to be discharged from that committee.

Don’t lie, Mitt. You’d prefer that these investigations not be done at all.

“I would prefer that investigations are done by an independent, nonpolitical body,”

We’ve all seen such a thing is a unicorn, a mythical beast that does not really exist. Is Romney blind? Or just being duplicitous and using that line for cover?

It’s pretty obvious.

If he’s referring to the DOJ the “investigation” is done. We are deep into cover up phase.

“I would prefer that investigations are done by an independent, nonpolitical body,” Romney told The Post’s Mike DeBonis.

Which independent, nonpolitical body would you suggest?

Oh, he wasn't asked that nor did he supply the information.
An answer to that question would be enlightening.

I’d rather not have the Senate go after the Bidens. It is too obviously political. Let the Ukrainians investigate them all they want. Of course Trump will get blamed for that also, but who cares? I’m sick of bloviating Congressman and their laughable investigations. (big expectations Gowdy et al).

Mitt McFlake is so predictable. He sure acts funny when the Burisma crap train looks like it will make a stop at his front door.

GoPe is fooling everyone. It just so happens that the committee that is trying to issue this supoena has Willard on it? Literally any other committee could issue the supenona. Judiciary? Doesn’t have mittens on it. They have no interest? Intelligence? The GOPe think they are smarter than everyone. Wish the Dems would be a normal party who would actually work with Trump so the GOPe could be replaced

I think he is trying to get the VP spot on the Biden Democratic ticket. They both I can imagine have horrible night dreams about what might show up if corruption charges are brought to courts in the Ukraine regarding their financial handlings.

Don’t the Mormons have a prophecy that the Constitution will be hanging by a thread and a Mormon will be elected president and save the country. It seems like Romney thinks he is the one.
