Finally, some sanity...
Every day a public school is closed costs them tens of thousands of dollars in Fedzilla funds.
Screw public safety. We gotta collect them dollars!
Fulton County GA (Atlanta burbs) closing schools due to THIS:
Fulton County: Teacher with COVID-19 had ‘a lot of contact with students, staff’
“Teacher at Bear Creek Middle School and Woodland Middle School. The teacher fell ill during their shift at Bear Creek Middle School last Friday and 911 was called. The employee is currently hospitalized. According to Looney, the teacher had “a lot of contact with students they serve and with additional staff members.”
My kids schools in suburban Cincinnati are doing a Learn at Home day with their school issued laptops on Friday.
To quote my wife, an RN: Coronavirus hysteria has now started. Lakota is doing at home online learning Friday instead attending school.
They wanted to spread. That is the only logical conclusion.
Free lunch, free childcare. No extra charge for coronavirus to take home to the parents and grandparents.
I would think the teachers union would rebel.
Yes, free breakfasts and lunches are the reason we have public schools. Just ask teachers what is most important.
If Seattle gets quarantined are the schools going to bring lunches to the kid’s homes?
Empty seat don't get Federal funds, it's not just the school lunch program..
Let them each have a wipe and clean their desk.
Federal funds before student safety!!!!
I cant believe the morons are staying open. I mean, I applaud the decision for other reasons. But good.
There is a simple educational solution. Florida offers an internet Public school synchronized providing the same course [plus additional courses] of the brick & mortar schools.
This public virtual school has one major difference: students experience the attention of a private tutor teachers are accessible for students per messaging, email, texting or phone.
Im sure FL currently offers their internet public school globally & would probably negotiate to increasing service with other states for temporary coronavirus situation.
