i have family that could use the $$.
WE are on SS, his is based off 20 yrs Navy and 20 yrs teaching Computer science/math/Sisco to those who would be teachers of it. Retired Dept Chair, Jr college. Mine was min wage jobs for disability, went to regular at 66. Last of the Boomers. He has a state and Navy pension, but that is based off 58-80 theen college for teaching degree time frame.
I’d Bank it, and in the fall help my grandson who is going to Tech School get a better than he 30 yr old car he has for safer transportation. He works after school, and summers. Pays his own phone, car ins. still lives with his dad. How jobs for them will play out is iffy. Son is Type 2 Diabetic and near 50. Wrong age for job hunting and Diabetes is a drawback.

Well...last year we sold stock and put in CDs to fund retirement ...so our income LOOKS high.. If we got it I’d help elect some sane reps with some of it
As self employed, we’re probably going to pay taxes :-)
And don’t forget women...
What about dependents who did file a tax return? (I have a son in college.) If you are a dependent on someone else’s return, do you think they will receive the check?

I can think of 2 reasons -
Drastic times call for drastic measures.
‘Don’t let a crisis go to waste’
He needs to fight strategically - fight in a way that gets least resistance, getting credits for it while reaping desirable results. In a word, turn this ‘crisis’ into an opportunity for a big win in Nov election.
Don’t let the left use it for their own gain, rather turn the table on them!
What good will it do if he handles it in ways we approve but results in losing the election? (Example - just letting it run its course could risk high fatality rate and blames squarely falling on his shoulders causing him the presidency.)
It is a difficult time, but keeping Trump to be our president is worth the efforts and inconvenience!
I think sending everybody the ‘checks’ is worthless, but if they did , we should use the money wisely to help achieve the desired goals - get the economy going, and, keep Trump the president (if possible, by giving him more money to get the votes out etc.)

That is why we have to use it wisely, hopefully our wise moves would offset their bad moves
