Nearing the end of another 16-hour day overseeing New Jerseys response to the coronavirus pandemic, Judith Persichilli pauses at the door of her crisis conference room to answer a final question.
Persichilli, the state health commissioner, has become a familiar face in the state as the woman who calmly announces how many people have tested positive and died of COVID-19 disease each day. Behind the scenes, she is the health official who has been running the states day-to-day battle against the virus.
But at age 71, Persichilli is squarely in the age range that experts are warning to be most cautious.
Are you worried, I ask, that youll get the coronavirus eventually?
She smiles.
Im definitely going to get it. We all are, Persichilli says matter-of-factly. Im just waiting.
It will probably be mild. Shell feel sick for a few days, then hopefully get better, she says. It may not be this month or this year. But, shes studied all the coronavirus pandemic algorithms and consulted the experts.

Yup, “we all are” pretty much exposed the originator of that quote as have a Biden/Pelosi-level knowledge of elementary stats.
Nothing to see here, move along, move along.
I thought that only 20% of those cooped up on one of the quarantined cruise ships got it.

um at some point a vaccine will very likely come along-
Im definitely going to get it. We all are,
This is why I’m big on stuff like this:

She’s an idiot.
Unfortunately she’s likely right. A lot of health professionals, especially the government administrative types seem to get it.
That attitude makes it a lot more likely she won’t take precautionary measures and it will become a self fulfilling prophecy.
Then open everything back up again and move on with our lives. The rhetoric has reached hyper stupidity levels.
This is such incredible b.s.
Did everyone get H1N1 swine flu? No, only 1 out 6 got it. And that was with essentially NO ONE doing anything special in terms of avoidance. I was one of those who did get it, but I wasn’t taking any special precautions. I was out and about and in crowds, etc.
p/H above 2000
p/H == panic/Hysteria
the reason for that though may be that once they discovered it was onboard- everyone mighta been quarantined to rooms- don’t know for sure though- but seems reasonable they would have done that to try to halt the increasing infections- Ships are pretty large- so some folks could have it on like level two while noone on level 5 would have it yet-
I dunno- just thinking out loud-
/\
This.
This is far more contagious than swine flu was.
If “everyone” will get it, that means it was here all along.
Nonsense.
That is like saying we are all going to get the flu - sometime.
I am 70+ years old, never once had the flu vaccine and never once had the flu.
Remember 40 years ago when “everyone” was going to get AIDS?
“Everyone Has AIDS!”
Classic give up mentality
The Pope has got it and so do you!

There’s a shocker
She’s a regular inspiration.
