How the Coronavirus Changed President Trump and America

The media are piling on President Trump for not instilling confidence during the COVID-19 crisis: "There is no new Trump." "Don't be fooled." "The new Trump is the same as the old Trump." "He's incapable of leading us out of it." "Trump shrugs off responsibility." "He's putting the blame on the Chinese." "Trump is fundamentally unfit — intellectually, morally, temperamentally and psychologically." The media could not be more wrong.

As explained in my book, Psychologically Sound: The Mind of Donald J. Trump, his personality — replete with intelligence, imagination, consistency, charisma, organization, and optimism — is well designed for modern America. But I did not think Trump's personality would evolve in the Oval Office. I was wrong, deeply wrong. He has changed, profoundly, and for the better.

During the March 17 Tuesday White House coronavirus press conference, a reporter asked if President Trump's mood was more somber on Monday's briefing. With great seriousness, Trump outlined how he had been solemn from the get-go — in January, restricting travel with China. Although he may genuinely believe that self-description, what he has progressively revealed of himself in this crisis is different.

President Trump did not change, he is leading, this is what leaders do.

President Trump is NOT an ideologue. President Trump understands if the situation changes, you have to adapt and solve the issue. That is how successful business leaders succeed.

Ideologues keep the course and go down with the ship once it hits the iceberg. Leaders will change course and pilot the ship out of harms way. That is what President Trump is doing.

The plan all along....I knew since TRUMP had used the economy as hi prize they would ultimately attack it...did not envision the ruthless of the deadly intentional release of the CHINESE VIRUS though by the one or all of the following actors: CCP, Soros, Gates, world bank, former, CIA, deep staters far and wide, and likely clintons...

Dems doing everything no to prolong now in congress to delay...dem gov to obfuscate and confuse throw blame....elections????????????????? when and if and how???????

Imagine HRC in this situation. First, the media would praise anything she did. Second, she would have made America like Italy, only acting when it was too late and the hospitals were overflowing and old people were dying by the tens of thousands. Third, the result will be the imposition of either socialism (government takes over everything) or fascism (government takes control of all private industry).

But then imagine Ted Cruz in this situation (full disclosure: I was a Cruzer before I became a Trumpist). First, the media would be trashing anything he did just like they trash Trump; he would fight back, but it wouldn’t matter. Second, he would have control of the situation as Trump is, but he wouldn’t look like it, because he is a politician and not a businessman, so he would speak platitudes and the average person would still panic. Third, he would sign anything the Congress sent him, so the Dems would use the opportunity to fund themselves and the swamp the same way they did in 2009, and use the money to defeat Cruz in the fall, then establish socialism or fascism as defined above.

God has placed Trump in power for this time, and in the midst of our troubles we should thank and praise God continuously for this.

Of course! Every occupant of the WH does. There would be something wrong if they didn't.

But-no ‘change’ could be positive or appropriate if the core values and basic character of a President were not sound, stable and irreproachable to begin with.

Trump's character, experience, acumen and mental ‘furniture’ got him INTO the WH and everyone who supports him KNOWS that,

Absolutely, she would have done so. She would've waited for tens of thousands to die, refusing them resources, blame the deaths on Republicans (and received support from the media), then implemented a full-scale national healthcare scheme.

I agree, this person was someone who stood against President Trump, and is not offering praise, but only because he is delegating which this person was afraid he was not going to do. But in reality that is what he has been doing all along, only this fool has failed to see that fact. Trust me though, President Trump is still in full control and will go against those he has delegated authority to, if he feels they are impeding solutions instead of finding and implementing them.

Well stated. What has changed is his tone and demeanor, just as we all do, say, when attending a wake or funeral. Those who thought Trump was only capable of acting like he does at rallies are fools who haven’t been paying attention.

If this Chinese sickness is real (as in much worse than the other flu(s)), I could not be happier with Trump leading this nation. Hillary & Biden would e lining their pockets and filling their back accounts during this ‘crisis’. Barack would be in self quarantine on the golf course. Actually, there would not be a ‘crisis’ if Barack was still president.
