His bread is buttered by the entertainment industry, the entertainment industry is poisoned with ear-whispering ego-stroking goons intent on making people worship the way they think.
The goons score their lives by the number of followers they and their posse have. They admire political and religious systems that force people to follow them. The goons fantasize that if they could force people to idolize them, life would be an everlasting pleasure.
So, they whisper in actors' ears, "be righteous, be virtuous: it's unworthy of you to criticize China (or Islam).
IMHO ... just ranting out loud.
