Mississippi Gov Orders Abortion Clinic to Close During Coronavirus Crisis, Abortions Not Essential

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves urged the state’s only abortion facility to close and comply with a state order postponing all elective medical procedures due to the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, the pro-life Republican governor said abortions should stop in the state, especially during the health crisis, the Clarion Ledger reports.

Earlier, the state health department issued an order to stop all elective and unnecessary medical procedures so that medical resources can be preserved to combat the growing coronavirus pandemic. Reeves said there is nothing necessary about killing unborn babies in abortions, and the Jackson Women’s Health Organization must comply with the order.

“We’re doing everything in our power, and have for many years, to make Mississippi the safest place in America for unborn children,” Reeves said. “We’ll take whatever action we need to to protect not only the lives of unborn children, but also the lives of anyone who may contract this particular virus.”

When asked what steps he may take to close the abortion facility, Reeves replied: “… I don’t know any specifics, so I’m not saying they are currently operating. I just simply don’t know … We’ll take whatever necessary actions.”

He emphasized the need for action, especially when the United States is trying to save lives from the coronavirus.

“The reason those elective procedures is shut down is … we need to protect our (personal protective equipment), our masks, et cetera, and other supplies for anyone who gets infected by this virus,” he said.

Other governors have issued similar orders limiting non-essential medical procedures. Louisiana, Texas and Ohio included abortion facilities in their bans on non-essential surgeries and procedures. However, Ohio abortion facilities are refusing to comply.

Meanwhile, other states specifically exempted abortion facilities, allowing them to continue aborting unborn babies through the crisis. Pro-abortion Democrat governors in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Washington state carved out exceptions for abortion in their state mandates for the coronavirus.

Abortion businesses also are open in California and Pennsylvania, despite their governors’ bans on non-essential medical care. LifeNews reported about similar situations in Illinois, Maine and Puerto Rico last week.

Abortions are not life-saving, they are life-destroying. An unborn baby is killed, and its mother’s life is put at risk. Common abortion complications include infections, blood clots, hemorrhaging and an incomplete abortion where parts of the baby remain inside the mother’s womb. Abortion risks include future preterm births, breast cancer, suicide, anxiety/depression, and death. And it simply is not true that abortions are safer than childbirth. Mothers who cannot get abortions are not unhealthy as a result. They become mothers of newborn babies.

During this global pandemic, the world should be focused on doing everything it can to save lives, not kill them.

Yes until a little judge declares his personal prejudiced opinion.

Until then some innocent lives will be saved.

Murdering babies is not an Essential. Maybe Gloria AllBrainDead, along with Planned Homicide, but most Americans are happy to see them closed.
