Thanks. Does 30 second exposure 2X-4X per day pose any risks?
I’m not sure. When I was looking at a DIY replacement for a spray deodorant from Burt’s Bees that was discontinued a few years back, I read several discussions about this. Initially, some opted for isopropyl alcohol because it was cheap, readily available, and had high enough alcohol content for their needs.
Soon after, there were discussions that this might not be a good idea because of the toxicity issue, so they started recommending a high proof alcohol instead, if you could find it. Some people found 80 or 100 proof vodka worked for them. Others needed more alcohol content.
A lot of people have been suggesting isopropyl alcohol for a DIY hand sanitizer, so I don’t know how serious the toxicity issues are with it. Hand sanitizers like Purell and Germ-X use ethyl alcohol (with maybe trace amounts of isopropyl alcohol), so there must be a reason for it since isopropyl alcohol is cheaper.
