It’s a grim reality that the number of people who have died around the world, across the country and here at home grows every day. For privacy reasons, we’ll never know who these people were unless their families share their stories -- as a few who you see named below have -- yet we want to acknowledge the loss of all of them our communities.

We’ll update this list of the casualties in our battle with COVID-19 daily based on the limited information the Florida Department of Health provides on each one. For complete coverage of coronavirus’ impact and response, visit News4Jax.com/coronavirus.

'Who in Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia has died of coronavirus?'

Moronic and misleading headline on the station's part.

"OK, who died of the virus? Let's see a show of hands! Are you dead, too?"

And people go to them for 'news'. Schmucks.

Well it turns out that I only thought that I died. But I just figured out that I must still be here.

Based on the headline, whoever they are, I don’t believe they’ll be able to answer.

My friend is a physician assistant in Jacksonville and has been part of the medical teams testing people in the stadium parking lot. It was just this week that their governor ordered hair and nail salons closed! The beaches weren’t even closed. This is going to get bad quick.

There’s less than 200 deaths in the third most populous state of 16 million people.

So far, my Florida county of 156,000 has 47 cases, 6 are non residents, 4 have been hospitalized and zero have died.
I’m acquainted with the first case. Was in a room with her the day before she got sick. 84 yo, very ill but not hospitalized and recovered now. Her husband did not get the virus.
