Amid a barrage of research on finding treatment for new coronavirus, Australian scientists have found that a common anti-parasitic drug killed SARS-CoV-2 virus, growing in cell culture, within 48 hours in lab settings. Ivermectin is an FDA-approved anti-parasitic drug that has also been shown to be effective in vitro against a broad range of viruses including HIV, dengue, influenza and Zika virus.
Published in the journal Antiviral Research, the study from Monash University showed that a single dose of Ivermectin could stop the coronavirus growing in cell culture -- effectively eradicating all genetic material of the virus within two days. "We found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA by 48 hours and that even at 24 hours there was a really significant reduction in it," said study lead author Dr Kylie Wagstaff.

With over 1.2 million cases and trillions of dollars at stake, they can’t just start testing everything.
Who is they, and why not?
Everybody can’t test everything, but some people can, one by one.
It comes in a tube in paste form for livestock. Pill form for people.(prescription)
I imagine the math wouldn’t be too hard to transfer from pill strength to paste type. The feed stores sell it but I imagine they’ll be regulating it as soon as some dummy overdoses.
It is bad to dose for any length of time (for people with other health conditions) but they are reporting a single dose which shouldn’t cause any issues. That would be outstanding.
So will hydrochloric acid, gasoline, and boiling water - in a cell culture.

I salute everyone trying to come up with a way to treat this virus.
But is it more effective than aquarium cleaner?
The tubes for horse wormer are marked by weight. A whole tube services a 1200 lb horse. Pretty easy to not overdose yourself. Costs approximately $8
Would I be correct in assuming that univerities having the ways and means to prosecute this virus are doing exactly that?

Heartgard also contains pyrantel, another parasite medication. I looked up the dosage of ivermectin in Heartgard. It's much lower than what's been studied for COVID-19. I expect somebody will eat a box of "Heartgard" chews and the media will be all over it.
Some anecdotal evidence suggest that cancer can also be treated with invermectin (de-wormer) — presuming it is a fungus.
In any event, if I were dying, I’d try anything.
It doesn't have that bitter aftertaste.

I have done medical missions in the “hinterlands” of Latin America. We passed out Ivermectin like candy.
Looks like I’ll need four - better call the vet, only have two left for the dog. ;-)
