Medical workers battling coronavirus get help self-isolating through mobile home donations

“Imagine being scared of living in your own home,” Phillips said. “I love my husband and it isn’t that I didn’t want him home, but I have an asthmatic son and a 6-month-old baby, so I was worried especially for them.” The couple began discussing ways for Jason to live elsewhere. Hotels weren’t an option because they didn’t want to risk exposing anyone there either, then Emily Phillips' mom made a suggestion.

“It was giving us horrible anxiety ... But then one night my mom just called and said ‘Hey, why don’t you guys get a trailer or an RV?” Phillips said. She ended up finding a friend, Holly Haggard, who lent her an RV.

Realizing the problem stretched far beyond her family, Emily Phillips thought of a way to help.

Phillips and Haggard quickly started a Facebook group and called it “RVs 4 MDs." “It absolutely skyrocketed,” Phillips said. “I have never in my life seen anything like this.”

“It’s so easy, who has got an RV? Who needs an RV? And you can save hundreds, thousands of lives,” Phillips said.

Article is a few days ago but I watched a segment of Fox and Friends today about it.

A doctor friend of mine is holed up in his camper in the hospital parking lot. Seems like a great way to keep family safe if you’re working in the danger zone.

Just think what it would cost if the Feds came up with this idea. Like the Hurricane Katrina trailers. I believe many are still lined up at the Hope AR airport and were never used for Katrina victims. They were sold for pennies on the dollar. I have a friend that bought two for $4,000.00. He rented them for $400.00 per month each each. Made his money back in less than a year.

My wife works at the hospital and is terrified I'd get the disease, mainly because (1) I'm in an at-risk catagory (2) I have a lot of work to do.

So I am holed up in a little room at my office where I can work (so I am "working from home,") and she is living in the house and commuting to work.

It's tough, but if we both survive this, it won't be forever.

Medical workers should get substantial tax breaks for this ordeal. Its little dispensation for all the risk, stress and inconvenience they have to endure but they are providing invaluable services to the public.

I would like to see similar breaks for first responders and members of our military. They all sacrifice for us.

They are talking about it. My wife works in hospital housekeeping, and she is exposed to coronavirus every day.

Does he call it "The Titanic"?
