Is HCQ used to fight malaria in Africa? If so, could that be a reason why the numbers out of Africa are so low?

That was my theory why India is not overrun with Chinese flu cases.

I did a lot of poking around on that. Traditionally, HCQ has been widely prescribed in Africa. But over the years, malaria has developed chloroquine resistant strains throughout the continent. The CDC currently recommends other anti-malarials specifically for Africa. However, HCQ is still recommended for many regions of South America and Korea.

I don't know if HCQ treatments are as prevalent in Africa as they where 15 years ago. It's possible that lack of testing in Africa accounts for lower numbers.

I really don't know, but I was asking the exact same question as you a while ago. Still no very good answers.
