I actually only need the 75mg(Half dose) in the evening. Without that then I suffer terrible pain 24/7. And there is no way that I can lie down.
“The FDA is criminally corrupt.” -fixed it.
Don’t you dare believe what very creditable doctors are proving that Vitamin C can do either.
NO WAY... But I only have a little left. I would acquire more if I could get it.
Let me ask you this.
If you could get relief from tremendous suffering by eating a strip of bacon(In my case-half a strip) every day then would you do it?
[This FDA decision is petty, and a death sentence for many people. They should be ashamed of themselves.]

Ranitidine, sold under the trade name Zantac among others, is a medication that decreases stomach acid production.[5] It is commonly used in treatment of peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and ZollingerEllison syndrome.[5] There is also tentative evidence of benefit for hives.[7] It can be taken by mouth, by injection into a muscle, or into a vein.[5]
Common side effects include headaches, and pain or burning if given by injection.[5] Serious side effects may include liver problems, a slow heart rate, pneumonia, and the potential of masking stomach cancer.[5] It is also linked to an increased risk of Clostridium difficile colitis.[8] It is generally safe in pregnancy.[5] Ranitidine is an H2 histamine receptor antagonist that works by blocking histamine, and thus decreasing the amount of acid released by cells of the stomach.[5]
In September 2019, the carcinogen N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) was discovered in ranitidine products from a number of manufacturers, resulting in recalls.[14][15][16][17] In April 2020, it was withdrawn from the United States market due to these concerns.

I don’t remember that it was. My very brief research just now doesn’t say that. It does seem that the contaminant may be linked with kidney cancer.
Ranitidine and famotidine- H2 blockers- have been around for 30-plus years. They weren’t used much for a while after the PPIs (Nexium, Prevacid, etc) came on the market but I’m seeing the H2 blockers being used more. Long-term use of the PPIs has its own set of problems.
Stomach acid, heartburn. It reduces stomach acid production, unlike Tums, which neutralizes some of the acid present. It used to be a prescription drug, but became OTC 20 or so years ago.
Thats fer dang sure,,,,,
Some retailers already have offered refunds (Walmart, for example)...
The FDA is incompetent.
Have practicing physicians decide everything for their patients until a successor organization to the FDA gets up and running.
Anxiety.
I got two boxes of the stuff in under the sink in my bathroom!! Works great for heartburn...
IIRC this drug was deemed dangerous two or more years ago.
Another example of the ‘slow to act’ sluggards at the CDC and FDA.
Get them before supply is gone...
I am taking Pantoprazole (brand name Protonix), another PPI. Haven’t noticed any side effects beyond extra gas.
Yikers. That is a lot of folks at risk.
No longer sold over the counter like that in any form. Not sure if anyone will even make it now. You can find existing product online from places like ebay, but it is very expensive and the supply is running out.
Isn’t this the third time in about a year there’s been a recall on this med?
I don’t believe that Ranitidine is considered to be a PPI. The PPI’s cause to many impossible side effects for me. Glad it works for you.

Are they made in China????
I am looking at a bottle and it says “Distributed by Chatham Inc, a Sanofi Co.” then a Chattanooga TN PO Box.
Maybe the POA was on the box but that’s long gone.
