Wasn’t “Zantac” use correlated with kidney damage a few years ago?

Or am I getting my acid blockers confused?

No the kidney damage comes from some of the other medications that the FDA is asking people to switch to. It seems that kidney damage is more preferable than the risk of getting cancer from eating bacon.

I don’t remember that it was. My very brief research just now doesn’t say that. It does seem that the contaminant may be linked with kidney cancer.

Ranitidine and famotidine- H2 blockers- have been around for 30-plus years. They weren’t used much for a while after the PPIs (Nexium, Prevacid, etc) came on the market but I’m seeing the H2 blockers being used more. Long-term use of the PPIs has its own set of problems.
